Sölden stands for the full force of winter!Sölden’s great winter ski area is directly connected to the glacier slopes by a number of ski lifts and gondolas called Golden Gate to the Glacier. Skiing enthusiasts can ski uninterrupetedly from the village of Sölden up to the glaciers at the elevation of 3,250 m – With a total length of 15.0 km the ski route from Schwarze Schneide at Rettenbach Glacier is the region’s longest ski trail featuring nearly 2,000 m elevation change.

In Soelden there is always something happening. Guests from all over the world visit one of the most renowned winter sports centers to experience the extraordinary events. The “FIS Ski World Cup Opening” at the end of October have now been part for several years.

SLEDDING

All those who want to enjoy tobogganing and sledding in winter, Sölden has an ultimate and perfectly maintained 5-kilometer natural track. An action-packed toboggan ride always guarantees great fun for young and old – followed by a rest stop at one of Sölden’s quaint mountain inns.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING

Endless sunshine and deep blue skies await you in the gently rolling hills ideal for cross-country skiing and gliding silently through tree-shaded tracks. A made to measure bus line takes you effortlessly to Ötztal’s major cross-country skiing centers. Guest card holders (wearing cross-country skiing equipment) enjoy free use of this shuttle service.

ICE SKATING

Ice sports have again become popular. Our grandparents already enjoyed night-time ice skating or curling. Floating on the ice can be so much fun! And if you are lucky, you enjoy ice skating in Sölden’s outdoors: a truly unique feeling under the starry sky. Ice skating provides a sense of weightlessness, calling to mind childhood dreams of freedom. As it is a very elegant activity off the beaten tracks, ice skating makes a great alternative to Alpine skiing or snowboarding.

FREERIDING

Besides perfectly groomed ski slopes and fun-filled après-ski hours Sölden has a lot more to offer, especially when it comes to unlimited freeriding on pristine powder snow slopes. Off-piste routes are available for all ability levels

The breathtaking winter walking trails lead right across snow-covered forests, white fields or along the Ötztaler Ache river.
